The work explores the relationship between economic power, the political class, and the media in shaping narratives and collective imaginaries. Through a symbolic visualisation of the G7 countries, it proposes a system in which media discourse functions as a mechanism of repetition and ideological legitimisation. The layering of newspaper front pages and presenters’ voices creates a saturated environment in which information becomes indistinguishable from propaganda. The consensus factory offers a reading of the media as a space where reality is manufactured rather than facts merely transmitted.
Seven images symbolise the G7 countries: the United States, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and Canada. Their sizes are proportional to each country’s GDP, while their rectangular shapes evoke newspapers and the screens of electronic devices. Like television commercials, the piece lasts 30 seconds, suggesting an ideological form of advertising disseminated through the media.
